De Corpo e Alma — the sensing behind

🎧 Listen to "De Corpo e Alma" on Spotify

This was the first song I channeled.

I didn't sit down to "compose". I didn't think about structure, rhyme, or theme. I sat down to breathe — and the words began to come. I sang. I recorded. That's how it stayed.

I want to share with you the sensing that was behind it, in the moment the melody arrived.

The lyrics

De corpo e alma sou feliz Aqui em qualquer lugar Onde o sonho voa Onde o sonho me faz sorrir Alegre e a voar

The first line arrived complete. "De corpo e alma sou feliz, aqui em qualquer lugar." ("Body and soul I am happy, here in any place.")

It was not an affirmation I was making in that moment. It was something I was trying to make true within me. A phrase halfway between promise and prayer.

There are days when I'm happy in any place. There are days when I struggle to be happy even in the place I want to be. The song was written from the second state — to remind me of the first.

What "body and soul" means

There's a distinction we lose as we grow. As a child, to be happy is to be happy with the whole body. You jump. You run. You laugh loud. The body goes along.

As adults, we think being happy is only a mental thing — a feeling we sense "in there", separate from the body. As if the body were just transportation for the head.

It's not.

To be happy "body and soul" is the state where the two things are synchronized:

  • The soul recognizes itself at peace
  • The body is rested, present, alive
  • The mind does not run in loops

When these three are aligned — any place will do. You are well anywhere. That's why the phrase "here in any place" appears right after.

"I am a child within me"

Sob o céu estrelado sem fim Ao teu lado sou criança em mim Onde o corpo dança e sorri A vida acontece e flui

This section of the song speaks of the inner child. Not as an abstract psychological concept — but as a real and accessible state.

There are moments when you are with someone — it could be a partner, friend, animal, child — and you feel that you are a child again. Without a mask. Without performance. Without having to prove anything.

Those moments are not small. They are fundamental.

Modern life trains us to be always in "professional", "responsible", "performance" mode. The inner child gets buried. When she comes back — during a few minutes with someone you love, during a walk in nature, during a song that touches you — she reminds you of who you have always been.

"Where time flies free"

Onde o tempo voa livre De corpo e alma a sorrir Ser livre ser livre ser livre Com coragem pra sentir

The repetition "ser livre, ser livre, ser livre" ("be free, be free, be free") is not stylistic — it is a mantra.

When I sing this, I repeat because I need to repeat. Because freedom is not a permanently acquired state — it is a state that is recovered every day. And there are days when you have to tell yourself three times to believe it.

"With courage to feel" — because feeling is courage. So many people live in the middle of their own sensing. They never reach full joy nor full pain. They live at 50%.

I prefer to feel 100%, even if it hurts sometimes.

To take with you

Next time you are with someone you love — human, animal, plant, place — and feel a small wave of joy without specific cause:

Place your hand on your chest. Breathe. Say inwardly:

De corpo e alma sou feliz, aqui, neste lugar. (Body and soul I am happy, here, in this place.)

It doesn't matter where "this place" is. It could be a noisy outdoor café. A hospital bed. A park in the rain. Wherever you are — that is the place.

The song is mine. The phrase becomes yours when you feel it.

This is the first song of my yoursouldances project. There are 8 others published. The music is facilitated by artificial intelligence; the essence, the sensing, the message — comes from a real journey.
